Meet Ruixu 16 kWh in one wheeled cabinet, with a touchscreen and self-heating built in.

  • Lots of storage, one box

The Lithi2-16 holds 16 kWh usable in one floor-standing cabinet, so there are no modules to stack.

It's the only Ruixu model on the approved list, so check 16 kWh suits how much power you use.

  • Rolls into place on wheels

Four hidden heavy-duty wheels make the 145 kg unit easier to move into place, and a wall mount stops it tipping.

Check the anti-tip wall mount is in your quote.

  • A touchscreen on the battery

A 5-inch touchscreen on the front shows how the battery is doing and lets you change settings right there.

The company behind it

Ruixu is a Chinese lithium battery maker, founded in 2017, with its factory in Zhuhai, Guangdong.

  • Founded 2017

Ruixu was founded in 2017 and makes lithium iron phosphate batteries and inverters.

  • Factory in Zhuhai

Ruixu makes them at a 20,000 m² factory in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province, China.

  • Sydney warehouse

SolarQuotes reported in July 2025 that Ruixu has a Sydney warehouse but no Australian office.

Is Ruixu right for your home? Fit and warranty checks

A good fit if…

  • Households that genuinely need a lot of storage and want it in one box
  • Sites where a heavy unit has to be moved into an awkward position and wheels solve a real problem
  • Cold-climate locations where a self-heating pack answers a genuine winter limitation
  • Buyers pairing it with a hybrid inverter they have chosen deliberately on its own merits

Consider the limitations

  • You want a warranty that commits to how much capacity you will still have at the end of it
  • You want a smaller battery, since there is no lower model in the Australian range
  • You want a brand with years of Australian installs and an established local service operation
  • You want the battery and inverter to come from one manufacturer with one point of accountability

The Ruixu range

Lithi2-16

One floor-standing unit, expandable in parallel

The entire Australian range; there is no smaller version for a modest household.

Parallel banks

Units combined well past household scale

The datasheet takes the same product up to commercial sizes, which is where the larger figures come from.

Third-party hybrid inverter

Not supplied by Ruixu

Required to run the battery, chosen separately, and covered by its own warranty.

Ruixu specifications and source documents

Ruixu sells a single home battery in Australia and it is a large one: a floor-standing unit that holds in one box what most brands build from three or four modules. It is a battery only, so it needs a hybrid inverter from another manufacturer, and it arrived on the approved-product register in the middle of 2025 through a Queensland importer. The hardware has some genuinely thoughtful touches — concealed wheels under a unit that weighs as much as two adults, a self-heating function for cold sites, an aerosol fire module and a touchscreen on the front. The warranty is where a buyer needs to slow down and read.

  • Current Ruixu line-up in Australia: Lithi2-16 (16 kWh usable). Source
  • Usable capacity runs from 16 kWh to 257 kWh. Source
  • Capacity can be added later without replacing the inverter. Source
  • The manufacturer warranty is 10 years. Source
  • Listed models are on the Clean Energy Council approved battery list. Source
  • The Lithi2-16 is on the Clean Energy Council approved battery list, the hardware condition of the federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program, and a single unit sits well inside the program band of 5 kWh to 100 kWh of usable capacity. The program pays its full rate on the first 14 kWh of usable capacity and tapers above that, so one unit of this size crosses that boundary on its own. Source

Ruixu questions, answered

What does Ruixu’s warranty actually cover?
Defects in materials and workmanship for its term, and that is the extent of it. The manufacturer’s warranty document contains no percentage of original capacity you should still have at the end, no state-of-health figure and no throughput table. It also reserves the right to refuse a claim where the battery is judged on inspection to be at its normal end of life even within the warranty period. Compare that against a brand that commits to a capacity floor before deciding.
Is Ruixu eligible for the federal battery rebate?
Yes. The Lithi2-16 is on the Clean Energy Council approved battery list, the hardware gate for the Cheaper Home Batteries Program, and one unit sits comfortably inside the program band. Because this unit is large, it crosses the point where the program’s support rate begins to taper, so ask your installer to show how the discount is calculated on this specific capacity.
Do I need a particular inverter?
You need a hybrid inverter, because Ruixu does not make one and this is a battery on its own. Neither the datasheet nor the warranty publishes a compatibility list, so the pairing is something your installer has to establish and stand behind. Ask which inverter model they are proposing, whether they have commissioned that exact combination, and what happens if the two do not communicate properly.
Why does it have wheels?
Because it weighs about as much as two adults and still has to get down a side path and into position. Four concealed heavy-duty wheels let it be moved without a lifting crew, and an anti-tipping mount anchors it to the wall once it is placed. It is a practical answer to a real problem with large single-unit batteries, and it also makes the unit easier to move away from for maintenance.
What is the self-heating function for?
Lithium batteries slow their charging in cold conditions to protect themselves. The Lithi2-16 warms its own pack when the temperature drops far enough, so it keeps working through genuinely cold weather. In alpine and tableland Australia that solves a real winter problem. In most of the country it will rarely if ever engage, so it should not be what tips your decision.
Is one unit too much battery for my house?
It might be, and that is a fair question to ask. There is no smaller model in the Australian range, so the entry point is larger than most brands offer. If your consumption does not justify that much storage, buying it anyway is a poor use of money regardless of the price per kilowatt-hour. Ask your installer to model a smaller battery from another brand alongside this one before you commit.
How established is Ruixu in Australia?
Not very. It reached the approved-product register in the middle of 2025 through a Queensland importer, the manufacturer has no Australian office, and only a handful of owner reviews exist. SolarQuotes’ reviewer says plainly it is too early to tell how the batteries hold up in Australian conditions. That is not a reason to rule it out at the right price, but it is a reason to weigh the importer and installer heavily.
